At Berry King, we’re serious about two things:

Every plant we ship has been inspected, watered, and lovingly judged by our team before it leaves our nursery. If it doesn’t meet our standards, it doesn’t go in the box.
We want you to feel confident when you order from us — and excited when your plants arrive.
2. Live Arrival Guarantee
We guarantee that your plants will arrive alive and healthy.
If your plant shows up looking rough, wilted, or like it just finished a cross‑country marathon:

Contact us within 3 days of delivery

Include photos of the plant, packaging, and shipping box

Keep everything until we review the claim
If the plant is truly damaged beyond recovery, we may offer:

A one‑time replacement, or

Store credit
The choice depends on the situation and plant availability.
3. What’s Not Covered (AKA: Things Plants Don’t Love)
Once your plant is delivered safely, its success depends on proper care. Our guarantee does not cover issues caused by:

Planting too deep, too shallow, or not at all

Overwatering, underwatering, or “I forgot it in the garage”

Heat waves, cold snaps, droughts, floods, or other weather drama
-
Animals, pests, or curious children
-
Planting outside recommended USDA zones

Soil conditions that would make even a cactus nervous

Neglect, accidental damage, or improper storage
We’re good — but we can’t outsmart Mother Nature.
4. Dormant Plants & Seasonal Behavior
Many plants ship dormant during fall–spring. Dormant plants may look:

Leafless
-
Brown
-
Dry
-
Slightly unimpressed
This is normal. Dormant ≠ dead.
Before submitting a claim, please perform a scratch test (scratch a small area of bark to check for green tissue). Dormant plants need time, warmth, and patience — just like teenagers.
5. Warranty Period
Because plants are living organisms and their success depends heavily on care and environment, we do not offer long‑term warranties.
Our guarantee covers live arrival only.
After that, we’re still here to help with advice, but we can’t guarantee survival or performance.
6. Liability Limitation
To keep things simple and fair:
Berry King / Dutch Roots Corporation’s total liability is limited to the purchase price of the order.
We do not cover:

Indirect or consequential damages

Lost time, lost fruit, or lost dreams of blueberry domination

Costs related to replanting, landscaping, or soil amendments
We stand behind our plants — but we can’t insure them like cars.
